I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 2nd October No.53895/1907 covering copies of two despatches from the Governor of Hong Kong with regard to the revised estimate of the cost of the construction of the British section of the Kowloon-Canton Railway.

We referred the papers to the Consulting Engineers and I now transmit for the information of the Secretary of State a copy of their report thereon.
